Kibbutz Maagan Michael was established in 1949 on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and is considered a success story in Israel and around the world. The kibbutz still functions as a co-operative society. Its main sources of revenue are” Plasson “a global plastic company, “Dag-On” a leading fish and koi fish corporation, different agricultural branches, a de-salinization plant and many innovative new businesses. the kibbutz develops and uses cutting edge  technology in many areas. this unique way of life fascinate many people from Israel and around the world.

It is also home to a bird sanctuary near the kibbutz beach.
